Liberty Tax invites the community to a free family event, Liberty Tax Cares, on Saturday, March 10 from 12-2 p.m. at Liberty Tax (609 S. Military Ave., Green Bay, WI 54303).
The event will feature food and drinks, a pack-n-play drive, and celebrate two local nonprofits, Center for Childhood Safety (CCS) and Kendyn’s Kause.
The Center for Childhood Safety aims to eliminate all preventable childhood injuries through improved education and public awareness. One of their main programs teaches families about safe environments for their babies to sleep in. Each year, CCS provides about 50 pack-n-plays to families in need.
Kendyn’s Kause is devoted to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) awareness by telling Kendyn’s story. They raise money through an annual 5k to donate to SIDS research. They will also be matching each new pack-n-play donated (up to 20) at the event!
“One of my goals as the new owner of Liberty Tax is to really give back to the local community and help out anyway we can,” says Lisa Willi, owner of Liberty Tax. “One way we can do this is by keeping our children safe. Safe sleep is a cause near and dear to our employees’ hearts, so we thought this fundraiser and celebration for two great organizations would be a fun way to spread awareness.”
Community members can stop by Liberty Tax before the March 10 celebration to make a donation, drop off a new pack-n-play (used pack-n-plays will be donated to other local organizations), or purchase a t-shirt to support the nonprofits.
