GENERAL AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM INFORMATION

These are great programs for your local club activities or a group of friends.  These programs are available Monday through Thursday and are a safe and fun environment for kids to learn.  A minimum of 8 students is required for 1.5 hours of programming.  Reservations for programs must be made two weeks in advance of your program date.   For more information on pricing and how to sign your club up contact info@ccsgb.org.   

Students learn about the rules of the road.   They also learn about being a safe pedestrian.   Students will learn to safely cross at crosswalks,  follow traffic signs and signals, and more. They have the opportunity to practice these skills on the mini sized town with mini cars, traffic signs, and crosswalks. 

Traffic & Pedestrian Safety

Students will learn about the importance of buckling up in the car/riding in a seat that is appropriate for them. A demonstration vehicle seat and child car seat will be used to show proper seat belt fit. Students will also watch a short video to reinforce the message and will complete a coloring/worksheet activity to conclude.

Motor Vehicle Safety

Students bring their helmets along to learn all about bike safety and the importance of wearing a helmet. Rules of the road and general bike safety tips presented. Helmets will be checked for proper fit and then children will practice the skills learned on bikes and scooters.

Bike Safety

Students will get to tour the Center for Childhood Safety’s Mobile Safety Unit to learn about how to stay safe in the various rooms of a home. This includes kitchen safety, stair safety, toy safety, bathroom safety, poison safety, water safety, and pet/animal safety.
