Safe Sleep

In 2013, we expanded safety prevention education programming by partnering with local private and public agencies to reach more parents in under-served populations: teen mothers, victims of domestic violence, homeless families, and lower income families.

Unsafe sleep environments can mean a variety of things- loose bedding, co-sleeping, soft objects- all things that are avoidable. The Center for Childhood Safety offers 1-on-1 appointments with caregivers to educate them about safe sleep, and we provide as many families as possible with a free, portable crib.

63 infants in Wisconsin died as a result of unsafe sleep environments in 2014.
